Jackie (Owner)

Hi, my name is Jackie. I am happily married to a remarkable man of 17 years. We have 2 wonderful children who attend Kamiak high school and two very playful dogs (Patsy and Willie). My family enjoys hanging out together watching movies, eating popcorn, hiking and snowmobiling. On my free time, I enjoy running, biking, being out in nature, going to the beach, baking cookies and visiting with my friends. I have taught for over 35 years in the public and private schools. I have had the opportunity to be a licensed educator in Texas, North Dakota, Washington, Florida and Australia. I have taught grades K-6th grade including gifted education and reading specialist), mentored teachers, supervised student teachers and facilitated several learning in-services on the Multiple Intelligences (Differentiation of Curriculum) for educators. I am excited to extend several different learning opportunities to children of all grades and ability levels. I look forward to meeting you and sharing what TLC has to offer!

Megan

Hi, my name is Megan. I have 2 children. My sons attend Olympic View and Kamiak. They both love to play football and basketball. Our family spends a lot of time outdoors camping, bike riding, and our new favorite activities: paddle boarding and kayaking. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, and tending to my large garden. I graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences in 2001. I turned my degree into a 10-year career as a biologist working on water and transportation infrastructure projects in Washington and Alaska. I took a several-year break to raise my sons. During this time, I volunteered in my sons’ preschool (Multiple Intelligences Academy) and elementary (Serene Lake) classrooms. It is during this time that I discovered my love for working with children. As a classroom volunteer, I primarily worked with 1st-3rd grade students on their spelling, reading and math skills. Since 2016, I have worked at Multiple Intelligences’ Academy as a lead teacher, and at The Learning Connection since 2020.
